Philanthropy has run as a quiet thread through Alastair’s whole life — using access, relationships and craft in service of causes that outlast any single voyage.
Across two decades in superyachts, Alastair has woven philanthropy into his professional identity rather than treating it as a footnote. The same standards that earn design awards and a judgeship at the International Superyacht Society Design & Leadership Awards 2026 are brought to the causes he champions.
His work sits at the meeting point of the yachting world and the causes it can serve — connecting the resources, discretion and reach of an ultra-high-net-worth network to organisations creating lasting change.
“My ‘why’ in life is philanthropy. The biggest positive impact I have is where I combine my two passions: superyacht expertise and philanthropy.
I love to be a super‑connector, bringing together over 20 years of trusted relationships with superyacht owners, charter vacation enthusiasts, single‑family offices, philanthropists, and impact investors. I host curated events onboard superyachts, in Palaces in London, and at the United Nations, to hear from extraordinary young social entrepreneurs.
It is so rewarding to connect these two worlds and transform countless lives.
Causes I support include education, ocean conservation, sustainability, children’s adoption, healthcare “black holes”, clean drinking water, empowering people out of poverty, and ending human trafficking.”
